Hello,

I have a problem moving the dish with the STAB 120 positioner from my DM800. ´
Is is like this:

Setup is in USALS mode, When I try to move to a different sattellite using a horizantal channe on that sattelitel, the dish most of the times fails to move or goes in the wrong direction or goes back and forth some times and stops. But if I use vertical channels when switching sattelites, the dish moves correctly to the sattallite all the time!
The anoying work around is always to move to a vertical channel when moving the dish...
I tried the advanced mode with DISEQC 1.2 , same problem.

Has any body had this problem before ?

Many thanks in advance!

V uses 13v and H 18v, so the problem is probably related to inadequate current sourcing from the DM800 Power Supply when an H channel is selected as target.

Thanks for the information, I measured the voltage, it was correct for V (about 13) and H (about 18), i suspect current sourcing from the DM800 Power Supply , I will try a 5A 12V supply.

Best regards,
Freiwat

Hi,

Tried another power supply 5A 12V, same problem.

Well I'm out of ideas.

Maybe someone else will chip in.

Quite possibly a faulty motor as satelliteman says. Is the DM800 a clone though ?

Faulty motor.

Hello,

Thanks for your input, the motor is brand new and was changed because the old one stops to move completely. I will try to borrow another satbox to try the motor, I will get access to a relook box tomorrow and try it out.
Just curious, is this a typical symtom of a faulty motor where it fails on H ? it seems that something gets weird and drives the motor crazy when moving to new sattelite with a H transponder, it works some times but fails most of the time. However, when the dish is tuned to the sattelite, I can zap all ch. H and V without any problems on that sattalite.
Thank

A faulty Diseqc control board can do all sorts of wonderful things.

Again, Is your DM800 a clone ?

Hi,

It is not a clone, bought 2 years ago and was working perfectly under these 2 years.

Thanks

Hello,

Got the Relook box before 45 min ago, tested to zap between sattelites with USALS configuration and H channels, works 100%! also, the movment is little bit faster (better tuner in the relook 400).
so the problem can be the tuner in the DM800 or the software or the DM800 mainboard. When I got this problem, I tried different software, Nabilo .11, Gemeni 4.7, gemeni 5.0, and no I have Ellite BH 1.2.4 (latest).
One question, are the drivers for the tuner in the software itself or in the boot bloader ? can it be that I have messed the drivers for the tuner in th DM800?

Thnaks

I will try to monitor the output signal by tapping it from the coax line to the motor when in motion by an oscilloscope to see if there is any problems with the 18V (H) when the motor is moving.

I have not configured USALS
I have a LNB for each satellite
In this PDF you how to do
Attention to the latitude and longitude
must put the parameters of your site
important
Ex lnb 1 to 28.2 E
1 position and store
-26.0 E - 2 lnb
2 position and store
and so the satellites you see fit

works beautifully and seamlessly from 28.2 to 30 W
