Just a quick one to the technology boys. If u install Linux Os on a laptop that has a PCMIA port is it possible to program a CAM? As Linux is open source software

Some older Cams can be programmed using the PCMIA slot on your laptop, but as these are no longer of any use it's pointless, newer cams require a programmer, the best being the Cas 3+, or newer, programmer, as these can program both cams and cards.
As there is hardly anything available, at the moment, it would be ebst to wait a short time before investing in any new equipment.

With some older CAMs, it could be done on a Windows 98 laptop, but don't think you'd have much joy with the newer CAMs, as I don't believe there are any loaders available.

Edit. Beaten to the punch.:)
