My Location
38.5ºN, 0.5ºW
At last I've finally got the most important part of the jigsaw puzzle to get my 1.8m motorised project underway. :D

Neither of us interfere negatively in each other's hobbies/projects, and anyway there's plenty of space here for my satellite escapades.
 
Nice, will the mount take a larger dish than a 1.8m ?
 
A dish in the middle of the patio? Under trees? Are you crazy.....? Seriously though please keep the pics coming,its always nice to have something to look at plus we get a bit of additional sun!

Are you lot serious? I just put it there to take a few photos.

I've put it together now. Tracks the arc perfectly. Ku only at the moment. Next stage is to make a contraption to move the various LNBs in and out of the focal point on demand. That will give me C-band circular and linear, and Ku, and inclined satellite tracking.

Then take it apart again and paint it green like the old dish.

Looking good and i am enjoying that blue sky of yours immensely.
 
I understand everything.... but why GREEN? :D Is there rationale behind? Just kidding. Nice install. I like big dishes.
 
I see you still have the mount up for your 1.5 dish are you going to put up another dish ?

No, it was just standing there, and now it's in the store room.

BTW, my total outlay for this setup so far is one feedhorn and a couple of favours.

i,m getting 8.9 db on the F15 from that t.p here -- but i dont get full strength from this sat due to a wall blocking some signal ---
 
I've got a bit of blockage to that satellite too (tree). Maybe we should try something further up the arc.
