.... Iv'e got it up at the moment so to speak, just getting some levels etc... will report back asap.

Good level here on a 2.2 PF peaking 12dB with very slight tree foliage blocking from across the road. Agree with nelson ... could be border line on a 1.5 but lnb at focus and well aligned dish could catch this signal fairly well for most of the time. Worth a punt.
A very quick screen grab showing program & also a scan of 58°W.

is c-band on 58 west possible on my 1.5m gibertini in the wigan area? i've never been able to get any signal beyond 45west c-band or ku(rasdtv). using a sat finder app on my phone it looks like i have clear line of sight down to around 65w. thanks for the help.
Like others say - borderline. I did have it on my 1.5m Gibby a few years ago. There are some strong Ku band data signals on 58W for alignment purposes.

thanks to all for the replies. glad to know there are strong ku signals there, i haven't seen them either, it seems i have an alignment issue. if the rain lets up i'll switch the c-band lnb for ku and work on my tracking. i'll post my results. looking at the skies though it might have to be next weekend, but you never know, it might dry up later!

This one was my most wanted country for years - Ive cant see the western part of the arc, so I was delighted when DPRK turned up on 10E Ku a few years back for a couple of weeks :D

is c-band on 58 west possible on my 1.5m gibertini in the wigan area?
Don't see why not, I had a a dozen or so transponders from it on my 1.2m, NHK was probably the strongest and most reliable signal for tuning purposes.

thanks aceb, i switched lnb's to ku earlier after the rain stopped and not seeing anything past 45west. i'm getting 70% signal strength on rasdtv but it takes a good few seconds for the signal to peak so i'm guessing my alignment needs some work. if its nice weather tomorrow i might have a play.
