My Satellite Setup
qq box laptop running xp home, 90cm dish
My Location
central scotland
hi am using a qq box with blaze DTV 3.5,
dish set on astra 28.2, and eurobird 1, good signal and quality, when scanning for channels i cant get freesat channels, have checked that transponders for freesat are being scanned.. still no freesat... any ideas

Welcome to the forum philpg

Ok well the first thing that springs to mind is, you are probably pointing at the wrong satellite and you are actually seeing channels from another satellite that have the same frequency details contained in the stored channel details as details are often duplicated across the arc.

What channels are you actually receiving actually name some and do the channel logos you are seeing correspond to the channel name?
 
hi, i am receiving a lot of bbc channels ie scotland, wales etc, movies for men, film 24, e4, channel 4+1, no itv channels, a lot of foreign channels.. if i connect a sky box to the dish i get all freesat channels...

i scanned TP. 10714Mhz H 22000 5/6
the channels i received were
MMs main, 4 x unknown, sky preview, DVD extras, sky text holidays and sky preview active

But you appear to be receiving freesat channels from the lists given So you are saying you are not getting ITV channels ? is that correct? any more you are not getting and particularly want?

Is it perhaps a case that you need to scan each freesat transponder frequency individually?


EDIT ah right I see they do not correspond with listings on lyngsat for that frequency, I had not spotted that, mmmm finger trouble or stb trouble I wonder

What is a qq box?
 
i am not recieving itv channels or channel 5 , bbc scotland in fact most of freesat channels are missing, a QQ box is an external usb sat box about the size of a ciggy packet

Has your dish been used before or have you just installed it?
what is the skew set at?
what cable has been used from the lnb?
what lnb is it?
 
i dont know what the skew is set at, but on my sky box i have 80% ss and 80% quality, i have also tried the qq box at another location where the dish was set up by a sky installer.. with same results

In that case I would say the qq box itself or the software is at fault
 
i have just connected a Quantum sat reciever and scanned astra 28.2and eurobird 1 and am getting all freesat channels..
that would make me believe that the dish is set correctly
i wonder if anyone has scanned for freesat using blazeDTV

Hi PhilG. I have the same setup as you with the qq box and am only receivind the same channels. Have added BBC transponders but still no joy. did you manage to get your problem sorted. Thanks
 
Can you go into your LNB setup and check what the Local Oscillator is set to, should be Universal 9750/10600, 22Khz switching Auto.
 
Managed to get it sorted. When you are setting up the LNB, go into options I think it was and select lnb 2. a scan will result in all the freesat channels. Picked up bbc hd but it is jerky and not playing properly, must have a setting wrong somewhere.
