Hi guys, just installing a dish for my friend who plans to run through a vision genie multiswitch. I have a 60cm dish which I have aligned with a standard lnb. When I install satellite dishes (usually standard sky type) around where I live, i can normally get my horizon meter showing 73dbu on signal and around 90% on quality. However I am working in cleckheaton, have a clear view of the sky but can only get 59% quality on Astra2D H Lo. Am I doing something wrong. Also when I look at H-Hi, V-Hi and V-Lo they are all way below 40% quality.
 
Which brand of LNB and dish are you using? 60cm is smaller than I would usually consider for a multiswitch.
 
Not sure what brand of dish is, it is a transparent 60cm supplied by satellite superstore. The lnb is a titanium 0.1db

I finally got signal quality to 69% on standard lnb and then tightened the brackets etc before swapping for quattro. My quality values now range from 19% to 48% over the 4 outputs with s/n ratios ranging from 7.7 to 11.4 per 100% I am not overly confident with this horizon meter as I usually just install Freesat off a normal sky dish and very rarely get less than 90% quality.

Am I right in assuming 19% quality with 7.7-100% s/n ratio won't work?

Yup. Won't work - or if it does, the rain margin will be non-existent: It's good practice to go up at least one step in dish size when using a Quattro/Multiswitch - maybe an 80/90cm would be the best solution.
 
Thought as much. Are you familiar with the horizon meters? Do you know what the minimum values I should be looking for are?
 
Why are you aligning with the universal LNB, you can still tweak with the quattro, just have to swap the outputs for horizontal and vertical frequencies.

If you continue having problems with the titanium LNB, try an Inverto Black Ultra Quattro, superb performers and can be moved in and out to find the correct focal point.

Those Sat superstore transparent dishes are not great, I suppose OK for what they are, but I wouldn't use one for a system.
