Seconded.....Watched the program last night where he was interviewed by Keith Allen. A shame to see him fading, but still irreverent and entertaining.

Although always able to do basic cooking, it was Keith and his highly individual and entertaining TV shows that go me into collecting Cookery Books and actually occasionally using them to expand my repertoire.

Our larder has two 2m long shelves full of books now!

I shall sink a couple of decent glasses of Red tonight by way of paying respects.

I will also have a few "slurps of the red" for Keith.

Made cooking fun....especially doing the fish dish on the trawler in the middle of the storm!

I always enjoyed his cooking programmes with "plenty of wine for the chef".

I'll have a slurp of red in his honour tonight. And one for dear Hector (I think that was the name).

I was just SO sad to hear of Keith's death. I had tickets to go and see him on his cookery road show early last year but he had his well-publicised collapse and the show was cancelled - alas never to be rescheduled.

For me it was his series Floyd on France that was his best ever. I am not a cook but I just lapped up his irreverence and enthusiasm. I was particularly interested in the programme he made in Provence, an area I know and love.

If I had known he lived in Avignon I would have moved heaven and earth to meet him - even if it was to be insulted!

Now there's a bloke that certainly didn't think much of all this new 'healthy lifestyle' stuff.

He had a heart attack yesterday but revealed he'd been diagnosed with cancer in July. Perhaps a healthy lifestyle would have helped him avoid the cancer/heart attack? I don't suppose we'll find out but then, I don't suppose he'd care. He lived life the way he wanted to. Perhaps there's a lesson there too?

I cannot say I took to his style as much as others did but he certainly could captivate an audience

I used the same process that Keith Allen used and found his address in France. He actually lived just across the Rhone in the Gard department, not Avignon itself.

Ah well. No use going down the "if only" path.

I always loved his cookery shows and admired him for his unique take on life, he wouldn't be railroaded by the TV execs either.:)

RIP Keith.

The funeral does indeed take place on Wednesday and will be a cremation!

The service will be a humanist one and the coffin will be made out of banana leaves.
