Raising my 1.2

Yep, you're not missing much on 70.5e but would be good to have as much as physically possible.

I keep losing channels at 70.5, my first scan pulled a fair few in 100 + unless I was pulling some from 68E, I need clear skys to see what I can get here, broken cloud at the moment:(

That's to be expected at such low elevation... It's the much thicker atmosphere between the satellite and you that's the issue rather than the weather. Think of the rising or setting sun - the colour is orange rather than bright yellow when it's high up in the sky. It's the same phenomenon you get with satellite signals.

Nothing you can do about it, except perhaps pointing the 1.8m at it ;)
 
Yes pal I understand why I keep losing certain signals, its the HD mainly, but like you say to be expected this far round, the actuator is at its limit now so at some point I need to move it to try for 72, I might do it later when I tidy the cables up :)
 
The signal strength is still rising when the actuator locks out, so I might be able to squeeze more signal once adjusted, mta-muslim is strong and locking it with cloud cover at the moment.
 
Looks like some beams have fairly healthy signals in UK from the eastern satellites, so don't see why not.
 
Thanks for your help and input Alex:), ive just popped out to check the dish and it is the actuator locked out, still a few degree travel left, its got to come back round on its self to hit the pole, pictures at 70.5E actuator locked out :eek:.

Ah... oops! My personal opinion is that these Channel Master polar mounts are not the best around - too easy to beach the dish on these.

They are actually hard to beach with the correct actuator, they beach easy when they flop due to cheap actuators :).
 
Speaking of, I haven't heard anything from Rick regarding those actuators from the US :(
 
I will have to step up my search pal, my main things to do now is finish the SH / driveway gates and install the 1.8.
 
Unsure were this ones from ? I am at around 68.5E 11491 V 1240 Tagged Peshawar centre, signal comes and goes, it scans in as $ but clears.
