I updated my card with the Jan codes via remote. I then READ this card on my Elvis so I can then program a new card with a copy of my updated card. This card did not work. The question is:- does the read command erase the card. I had to reprogram with Kevlar 1.6 and and update manually with the Jan codes. IS there a way to copy a working card.

I assume you are using mp6 or mp7 software??
The read command will erase the card, hence the need to reprog.

Use Secanix5.02 or similar, in pheonix mode, to read the info off the card.

Alternatively, use this editor to input the jan keys and then save out an updated hex for future use.

Read with auto-detect will erase the card. You need to select the correct card type first by manually creating a project then read - you should then be able to backup the hex.
