Or even just get down to the nearest boot sale and you will almost certainly be able to pick up an operational Sky box for a fiver. You can then use that to test the two outlets

If the system was put in by a well known company from Bristol, the chances are sat 2 won't work. Only the terrestrial side and feed to Sat one usually works. This is because as moron who was supposed to commission the system won't have completed it, as nobody from said company checks its been done correctly. Its not normally discovered until a fault is reported.

Its then up to the poor unfortunate person who attends the service call to correctly commission the system. I'm speaking from personal experience here. Check that both ports are working before paying the extra for a twin tuner box.

As much as i'd like to, I know that some of their management and brown nosers are members here. By naming and shaming its only going to cause issues for me and the forum, but they know who they are and i dare say they know who i am too :-lmao

Most of the Moderating team know who i'm talking about :D

Got a HUMAX / FOXSAT-HDR 500GB, & I am delighted with it.
SAT2 was live so I get all the benefits of twin tuners, plus picture is much better than I expected for a communial dish, the signal strength OSD is topped out!

But massive RESPECT to everyone who took the time to answer my posts, with excellent knowledge of equipment and products, especially over Christmas time.

Regards A.Cusack

Many thanks again, and best wishes for upcoming year..
Take-Care y'all xx

Really pleased for you - Communal systems are rarely straightforward, but you have been blessed!

PS: Mine is the older 320GB model and we've not yet managed to exceed 21% usage, so 500GB will do you proud.

PPS: The Mk II version (Even newer than yours) is reported to be very fickle, so you are doubly blessed by not getting one!

Thanks again guys, its a bit like having a new phone eh' - lol.... I keep going for button presses out of habbit, will get there though.... Still amazed at the green 100% mark on the signal & quality I get from a dish serving 10 flats! (Probably only me that's using it) Ha-ha!

P.S. what's the Ethernet port used for? As I connected it to my router. D'oh forgot to check on demand channels

Regards

The newbie status is more of a discouragement for spammers - a forum as big as this one is targeted every day by scallywags trying to promote their nefarious wares or drop links to dubious or illegal sites.

We have a good staff team here - very little material gets through to being public on the main site.

As for the dnla stuff, looking at the avforum site it works with some setups, so give it a try :)
