Reception in Javea (Spain)?

Hi,

I am moving to Javea (Alicante,Spain) in the new year and will be taking my Thomson Sky HD box, what size of dish will I need to get all the Sky channels (if this is possible) ? will I lose any at any time or will I get them all 24 hours a day?

From the look of the reception map you will need a dish between 1.8 and 2.4m for solid reception of the Astra 2D channels (BBC, ITV and Channel 4), many of the others will be fine with a much smaller dish.
 
HI Riverman,

I live in Xabia and install dishes etc. A 2.4 M dish gets us most channels 24/7. BBC 1 and all the itv's are 24/7 reception BUT BBC 2 is lost anything after 6 ish local time. After a while you can drop me a private message and any help and advice I can give I'll be happy to help. Adios

apart from bbc2 what other channels will I lose with a 2.4m dish? how much will a 2.4m dish cost me?

it all depends where you live and what channels you want to receive! for example in the far north and certain eastern coast areas that may well be ok, for example, on the Costa Azahar it is fine. However, in Lanzarote, which is technically Spain, you will not get bbc, itv, c4 or five on a 1.3m dish.
I would always recommend seeing that the local people in your area have, and what they receive.

I live in Monserrat, just southwest of Valencia, you need a 2.4 here and even that loses some channs at night, its a solid portuguese dish with a quad lnb, but we lose BBC2 after 11pm and Meridian ITV after 7pm local...
