Record Light on but not recording.

My Satellite Setup
3.3 metre dish quad LNB Thompson and Pace Sky plus
My Location
Peyia, Cyprus
Can anyone suggest cure for this fault or cause. Whilst watching recorded program the record red light has come on but nothing appears to be recording. Switching of at mains and rebooting doesn't help as red light still comes on even if on standby. Nothing shown as recording on planner either. Receiver is Thompson Sky + 160. Still able to watch all programs and actually record but light refuses to go out.
 
As its a Thommo chances are the power supply capacitors are failing.
 
Many thanks Analoguesat, switched off over night all clear in morning, possibly over heating, PSU we are in the middle of a 40 degree heatwave!! Will look to get replacement PSU.

thomson 160 sky+ are well known for the hard drive failing .
try a full system reset .
go to service
press 4,0,1 then select on remote and its the last option

see if that helps
beware you lose all recordings but it be worth it if it helps

Had thought of that my wife is urgently playing all recordings so I can do a full system reset.
