No reason why it won't work for Windows. There are plenty of such adapters being used for Acorn and Amiga machines with no issues.

That'll be the question for our resident Mint advocate @Lazarus ...Does anyone know the hardware minimum requirements for Mint 15 ?
Here you go, lifted from http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2366
System requirements:
- x86 processor (Linux Mint 64-bit requires a 64-bit processor. Linux Mint 32-bit works on both 32-bit and 64-bit processors).
- 512 MB RAM (1GB recommended for a comfortable usage).
- 5 GB of disk space
- Graphics card capable of 800×600 resolution
- CD/DVD drive or USB port

Just opened something called 'software manager' ..Use the Synaptic Package Manager to add VLC, or, if it was there in that version, there's a Program (sic) Manager with a better graphical interface.
Problem solved ...the default player is pants with MP4 ..but VLC has no probs with it ..Aye. Couldn't recall the exact name.
Just stick VLC in the search box and Bob is the name we used to give to the silver shilling.
LOLMint Mint Mint Mint Mint!
