Thanks to the local councils utter hard on for screwing polystyrene panels to every house they can get the government funding for my dish is going to need to come off the wall and make it's way to the roof. Time to dig out the harness and the rest[emoji109]

Update on this, spoke to one of E-On bosses for this project of polystyrene pin the tail on the donkey and basically they have agreed to clad around my dish mount and leave it be and I will remove my motorised dish when I am lettered to say they are coming to erect the scaffolding. I better get the letter in advance as promised though, I know they are two weeks plus behind schedule because they never took into account the scaffolding company's H&S checks and return to base policy.......the whole operation is a joke, seen the scaffolders "bombing" down the roofs further up the street today...nice.

Well looks like a complete botch job already by the looks of things, won't be until the weekend that I can get a look at things what with work commitments as its dark when I leave and dark when I come home but I can see for what ever reason they have "plamped" I.e. covered over the base of my heavy duty L mount with foam so it looks like the thing is growing out from the wall rather than bolted on to it. The same two dafties chapped my door tonight to ask if it was me that had phoned up to complain about satellite signal issues but I said no because I hadn't (even though they have "gubbed" my Diseqc setup) so that means they have some how buggered moving a simple $ky dish setup onto the wall as well. I think it was next doors as the missus mentioned something, don't really care though as she's a neighbour from hell the smelly mink lol.

Thats what happens when the contract goes to the lowest bidder, you get half baked fools that don't know what end of a nail goes in first.

Well-known saying = "Pay peanuts, get monkeys!" - OTOH, I would not necessarily blame the actual guys who did the work (at least, not until I was sure that they had really F'd-up after having received the correct instructions).

But that is why, like a lot here, I closely monitor any work done on our house - had to do that last year when external insulation was fitted to the two longest walls on it, and I found incorrectly-fitted new guttering, poorly finished/leaking bathroom-outlets plumbing / damaged telephone wiring, and, finally, gaps in the insulation where it joined one of the two not-insulated (too difficult with the utility/conservatory areas below them) walls. The supplier was "not happy" that I brought these things up, but I made sure that the work was then corrected before I signed off on the job.

BTW, 18 months on, the house has been a lot warmer, and - importantly! - retained that overnight, since the insulation was installed (AND I don't have any condensation problems - not that, having already internally dry-lined the walls myself without any condensation many years ago, I expected any)

Only thing that's impressed me is the super long couch bolt anchors the B.T. guys have had to put in.

Fondly remember, sort-of (!), the potato pies (and the fish & chips, and the pancake rolls from the local Chinese chippie!) I bought when I was at Leeds Uni when I was there in the late 60's . :)

They have run the cabling under the scaffold walkway, your average checkatrade monkey would have missed that.
 
Mate they had it crimp/trapped under the metal board edge strut, luckily I noticed this before the Polish boys were allowed on the scaffolding to begin work.
