VU+DUO - 1.1 triax motorised dark motor with twin invacom=== fixed 80 old black channel master on 19e with arm picking up 13e and 28.2 on a dm800(+smargo) in other room with 2 cards....:)

Hi i have the above meter for some 7 years or so but i used my swires terry for aerials and my rover sdm-2 for satellite but my sdm-2 is giving me some bother (20 years old now:-) so i have turned to my Master STC, however it appears its probably out of date/hw and channel list that is.

HW Vers : 1.02
FW 1.65 B: 1.1

Can anyone who has one of these meters confirm if it is old software and also if possible where i might find the latest software and channel list, i can probably update the channel list from lyngsat but i,m not sure if there is an easy way of doing this or if i can find lists already updated/ i only need europe and uk.

I connected the meter to the latest SMART rover software but the software i was directed to by wecare/rover was for the Master STC (eu) black one and while mine has the same name mine is grey with a different button configuration and the software wont load.

I have uploaded some pictures of mine.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I,m aware of that mate which is why i,m here.

I,m also aware its a 15 year old meter but i,m hoping someone somewhere has the fireware squirreled away on an old pc fingers crossed.

For all i know it could be on the latest software but it seems a bit buggy and rover wont/cant tell me as i sent another email asking this if it was in thier archives somewhere.

Maybe need to delete a few plans on the meter i dont need and i have also tried hw/sw resets.

Cheers

on the site, as you were told, you can find the fw and the memory plans
but I don't know if these plans are up to date
for the new generation tools the plans are updated every year, for the older ones I think they are plans from years ago
I have a sw memory of obsolete Rover instruments
and the one found on the official site is the latest version, I also have a sw for stc plus but I don't know if it's good for your product

Thanks mate, i already downloaded the memory plan alongside the eu master stc from rovers website and in the rover SMART software its indicating that its 2013 for all the plans so just a decade out of date :-)

And yeah i think its 3 years for transponder updates so looks like rover were quite generous with the 2013 update considering the meter i have dates back to 2008.

I,ll wait and see what rover come back with regarding hw updates as i sent my serial to them, however your stc memory plans if you have any thats fairly upto date i imagine should be fine for my meter.

Cheers Bro

I have the new plans for my 900plus instrument
I also have personal plans created for satellites from 87 east to 63 west but they are only for new products, but they are not complete, I made them just to have all satellites at these 2 locations
why rover them alone from 70 east to 45 west
rover instruments have 99 memory plans
the first 25 are manuals, while from position 26 to 99 they are prepared by rovers, even if now they have decreased
the instrument always has the HELP function which automatically finds the S/R value once the marher is brought to the center of the signal

Sorry I did not respond to your PM or on this thread, sooner. I was busy with work and family.

Attached is all I have for the STC and STC+. Make sure you use the correct files. You can download the SMART software from Rover Instruments.

Kind regards,
Vitor

Thanks vma

Rover sent me firmware last week and only got a chance to try it today, it had the same version 1.65 indicated on the file but i tried it anyway and it uploaded to the meter fine but there was no fw or hw changes but at least i know i am on the latest possible software for this dinosaur meter:-)

vma sent me the same software in his package anyway in post 9, this software is not for the eu version FYI

As per the transponders i,m thinking of dusting the cobwebs from me old motorised dish and try a clean sweep tuning all european sats that i can available to me on an e2 box or an openbox and then using an editor of some kind try and convert it to a .MEM file or tvprog because unless i,m missing something there does not seem to be an easy way to upload a .MEM file from Lyngsat.

Anyway thanks for all who replied and helped with advice:-) well appreiciated and needed.

I don't know what the difference between the EU and non-EU model is. I am pretty sure that both v1.65 files are the same (mine and the one sent by Rover). You can ZIP them both and compare the CRC value. If it is the same, then both files are equal.

Over time I have collected all FW releases for all meters, even the ones I don't own. Of course, my library is not complete.

You can use the SMART software to edit the transponder lists and keep the meter updated.

Hi vma

I,m not entirely sure either what the difference is between the EU and older grey model is either to be perfectly ohnest but if you look at what rover has on thier website for the eu version compared to my older grey model then you can see a diiference..

ver 1.41 is offered as the latest for the EU model on the rover website
ver 1.65 was sent to me by rover as the latest for my older grey model (SENT SERIAL AND CURRENT FIRMWARE DETAILS TO THEM)

Ver 1.65 is not even available for the older grey model on rovers website like the meter i have but i tried the EU 1.41 version and it would not load, luckily it did,nt as i could have fried my meter... however the ver 1.65 that rover sent did load fine which confirmed i already had the latest software loaded which was one of my questions above if you look.

The EU version to me looks like a more advanced meter, possibly with better hardware and a faster processor which would explain why the fw did not load,,,, and thats the issue i have with mine i believe, too much going on with lower hardware capabilities.

I,m also well aware on how to use the SMART software and how to edit transponder lists, however one of my asks in this thread was if anyone had upto date lists available which nobody has so far to make life easier as they are all a decade out of date,,,well the ones i have found anyway.

Cheers
