the sabc channels sabc 1-3 are now in kuband sending on the south africa beam,no signal here in europe!
sabc news,i think its now in the satelite on europe beam (kuband)
sending with fec 1/2,that means,signal should be strong enoug,with a normal 90 cm dish for this news channel alone!
sabc in cband,is only a part of the multchoice networt,the signal on this transponder,is much lower,then on the others!
with 2,40 mesh antenna!
in past,a member told here,on board,if i remeber right it was channel hopper that lives in london,and he says with 3,60 m only signal on one polarisation,the other with multicoice on it no signal,rember 68,5e is very deep declination,and in uk nearly behind the horizont....

Yes Turok must be right for the dish size. I received SABC NEWS International on africa/europe beam(12722V/PAS 10) with a 120cm dish. But I am out of footprint( less than 40dBW Eirp). London is 44.6 dBW.

The problem for the UK with 68E is that its only about 5 degrees above the horizon at best , so ANY obstructions - trees / hills / buildings out to the SE mean its out of range.
