Never bothered to check that today. But yesterday when I forced a download it showed R010. Samsung, Pace, Amstrad DRX 780 and Thomson boxes will NOT receive the new update. :)
I'll check later on, but it will be interesting to see if the firmware is R011 as it updated in the DRX 890 the drive came out of.

OK! Here are my findings. 500GB HDD from updated R011 DRX 890-C replaced the failed 320GB in the Samsung, yet the R011 update seems to have no effect. I forced another download to be sure and all is well as it still reads update R010. Blue card recording still ENABLED and working well! It was a theory I wanted to try for myself and it was successful. :D

In this case, each HDD is Seagate Pipeline. I have not done a full system reset on this box but all seems fine.

When you forced download, it replaced r11 with r10?

I suspect the firmware is in the box's chips, not on the hard drive so the old box would stay on R010 even with the new drive. I know some Sky+ boxes used to boot up without a hard drive in them at one point, not sure if they still will. I guess Tony was just confirming that the box is staying on R010.

No firmware is stored in flash memory NOT on the HDD

No R11 update is for DRX890/895 boxes only and Sky say will not be applied to Pace, Samsung or Amstrad DRX780 boxes.

What does that update do other than disable the blue card from working? Does Sky release a change log for their releases?

Interesting site. Does anyone else dislike the new EPG having episodes in reverse order now as well as the scheduled recordings in a separate tab? This should have been made customisable (unless it is and I haven't found the option yet?).
I prefer it as it used to annoy me having to navigate to the bottom every time I wanted to watch something recently recorded. I've got a lot of stuff recorded on my box that I will watch sometime (probably, maybe) but I'd rather not see it listed every time I go to the planner. I agree there should be an option to change the order though.

Oh with regards to the recordings in a separate tab, perhaps this will stop my mum accidentally deleting future recordings by mistake when she's doing a clear out... (both my parents have a habit of leaving stuff they've watched on the box until it fills up and then they need to delete loads of watched stuff to free up space - am I the only one who deletes something right after I've watched it??)

Nope, we delete as soon as we watch something - mainly because we always seem to have 2% free space....

That's living on the edge. I get the sweats if it goes below 15%.
