just changed my thomson hd box for a new samsung one .but have noticed the picture quality on the hd channels is not as good as the thompson was .i thought it would be as good or better ...why is this ?
 
How does the picture look different m8? If it is more grainy, then maybe it is showing better sharper definition than the Thompson box and showing up the film/video imperfections more.

Silly question but you have set it to display in 1080i and not 720p or less?
 
it just seems like a bit better than sd broadcasts .with the thompson box bbc hd was very sharp indeed .but with the samsung box it is not .dont want to use the thompson box again because signal was rubbish and it kept switching off all the time (usual problems ) cant think of a way of checking picture quality other than getting another samsung box .any ideas ?
 
yes all set up for 1080i ,tv aswell
