Hi Again,
I put the Astra-2 Satellite details in and then saw it needed the transponder to be entered as well so I put in the Sky News Transponder as it is not on the narrow spot beam; 12148 H 27500 and it showed 95% signal from my 1.1 meter dish feed which is working fine but zero quality so no lock. The meter on the receiver is showing 100% signal and about 80% quality. So I am now confused, am I setting it up wrong or is it duff? I have no other way of testing it other than a known good signal.
I went for this model as it was DVB-s & DVB-S2 so I thought it would be a bit future proof. I wish I had gone for the other model with the TV screen and transponder scan.
Any suggestions or comments, anything you can think of that I might be doing wrong?
Thanks for your help.
Steve

I get this on the NIT search screen :

Is there DVBS/DVBS2 option? And what about FEC options on screen?

Hi Thanks for the reply, no there is not an option for DVBS or DVBS2 or for FEC.
So I really can't think of what I could have done wrong with my setup.

Was just having a wee look see on Fleabay to see if there was any screen images of what your presented with, the main splash screen has 6 menu icons?

Yes that's the one

So what's in system setup mate?
Not a lot:
Language, Key Tone, Lock Tone, Flashlight, Local Lat & long
the only one I don't know about is; PWR Unit: dbuv or dbmv or dbm I have it set at dbuv which is first choice
On the Sat Settings there is LNB Power: Off or 13v or 18v ore 13v/18v I have it set at 13v/18v
Thanks for your help

Yeah you would want LNB on lol,

What is is in Sat settings menu?

Mate change the Low Freq to 10,700 and High to 12,750 by rights most of the time you select "Universal" that's what you are automatically given the defaults as for a KU band LNB, do that and as I type this, check theres no bloody menu contradiction that's got you searching on a C-Band LNB or the like.

I doubt one thing could be set to KU and another C band but you never know with software bugs, so change the hi & low values, check no C band or nowt selected elsewhere and then have another crack on the $ly News transponder.

Many thanks satkijker :-)

Thanks @Ghostleader & @satkijker, sorry not to answer before, SWMBO called me for dinner.
I have a busy day today but will check it out with the different numbers this afternoon and come back.
Thanks for all the help.
Steve

Hi Guys,
Had a couple of minutes to spare so changed the High & Low to those in @satkijker's pictures took it out to the dish which is at ground level and immediate lock.
So a million thank you's to you for your perseverance and getting an idiot sorted out.
Would those figures be the same for all the four Satellites?
Steve

Thanks for that so looking on the web for frequencies I get these figures for Highest and lowest.

Sat Name, Longitude, LNB Type, Low Freq, High Freq, 22k, DISEqC1.0, DISEqC1.1.
Astra-2 28.2E Uni 10714 12552 on off off
Astra-3 23.5E uni 11455 2725 on off off
Hotbird 13.0E uni 10719 12731 on off off
Astra-1 19.21E uni 10729 12728 on off off

Sorry if they don't align properly. That covers I think the popular Satellites that might be used.
Are they the figures your meter has?

hi StevenJay i looking for arabsat , nilesat, and hotbird same as above , thanks
