My Satellite Setup
Moterk 2100A motor on Cyfra+ 80cm dish,45'E-37.5W Technomate 6800 HD receiver(Normal).
Windows 7 and Linux.
My Location
Buckinghamshire(H.Wyc)
I am stuck!! I am able to receive satellites from 13e to 8w no problem. I tried playing with dish elavation to get 12.5w and I picked up SportItalia etc in the process of doing that I lost quite a substantial number of channels on Hotbird. where am I going wrong. My reference sat is 1W. I did skew LNB according to dishpointer and got signal of 80% and 75 % quality. I then sent it to Hotbird, quality was 43% and hence no signal on quite a number of channels. Where am I going wrong. I am using a technomate box 6800HD which an improvent from Plaza XT-CM :-hny:-hny
 
Possible alignment/set up issue with dish EL or motor inclination.

Is this a new installation?

Essentially Skew should be set to Zero for your South Satellite on a Motorised system. Calculation becomes irrelevant.
 
yeah skew is set right to 0 on 1W...
No not new installation. I might have to play with motor elevation. it says 51.6 for High Wycombe on a GPS device. I have set it on that roughly on motor elevation scale
 
51.6 sounds more like your Latitude!

The corresponding Motor Elevation is 38 .....................

Motor probably has both Latitude and Elevation scales, so don't get them mixed up.

If you've set 51.6 against the Elevation scale, that would account for the tracking errors.
 
I have the Motek 2100A which has both Elavation and Latitude scales.

i will check the scales.
51.6 means degrees we r from equator and 00.8 we are from gmt isn't it
 
So, all you need do is check:

a. Motor Elevation = 38

or

b. Motor Latitude = 51.6

and

c. Dish Elevation bracket is around 22.5 degrees (before you fine adjust it to account for small errors in mechanical assembly)



USALS, as agreed, 51.6N and 0.8W (or -0.8).

triple check your pole is 100% vertical if your angles are correct

I have one motorized dish on a ground stand - it cost me 4p to correct a major alignment issue I had (I put 2 x 2p's under 2 legs to make it 100% vertical)
 
I have checked the information and it is 51.6 Lat on motor. I will probably change the wall arm I have the curve one. I will check the pole I think thats where problem is.
