Hi,

I had to put off getting satellite TV for a year, but I now have a Dreambox 800HD-SE, all I need is to get a dish installed.

I was thinking of just going for FreeSat and FSFS as the card only seems to be £25.

Can anyone recommend an installer reasonably local to me, I live in Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey.

Regards Alex

I'm local to you, around four miles away.
Same question though, what would you like to watch, as this determines the size and type of dish you will need. Brooklands is also rather woody in places which may restrict the number of satellites available.

Hi,

To be honest I have never had more than the basic four analogue channels up to now, so anything would be an improvement.

I was thinking of getting a FSFS card for £25 so I would definitely want Astra 28.8 (I think that is right), but I am up for getting more channels off other birds if the cost is not prohibitive. I am only really interested in English programming as I don't speak any other languages.

I am not in a particulary wooded bit of Brooklands, I live within the boundary of the old race track. But about 15 years ago I planted a cherry tree in my front garden that would probably obscure the view south from the west side of my house, so I think the dish would have to go either on the east side of the house (or should I say on the east end of the south elevation to me more correct) or on a roof mount bracket. I assume that a wall mount is easier and cheaper so that would be my prefered solution.

My Dreambox 800HD-SE only seems to have one tuner, so I guess I only need one cable from the dish to the receiver, but ideally I would like the option of connecting another receiver to the LNB at some point in the future, if I decide that I want another receiver in my bedroom. Once analogue turns off I will have to do something so I can watch TV in bed :)

The 800 would be wasted on much less than a motorised system, and any fixed multi LNB system with more than three positions would probably cost more in equipment costs.

I would estimate the outdoor equipment and fitting to get you the majority of the arc would be around 400 pounds on a standard semi detatched house. A second cable and quad LNB so you get the channels in the bedroom would be another 100 pounds, without secondary receiver.

Without seeing the property I coldn't be absolutely sure. I am working in your area on Sunday if you want a more accurate price.

Let me know if this is convenient and I (or somebody else) will start the PM facility.

Regards

CH
