satellite problem

Hi guys, got a quick question

I've been trying to set up my satellite system on either the astra 19.2 or eulesat 16. Now when I go to the channel search on the box and select either of them it says good signal strength and quality yet seems to only show the hotbird channels... now I've tried moving the dish to what seems to be the same as my sky dish yet even when it scans the astra 2 it still only shows the hotbird channels...


Does anyone have any idea why this might be or is my dish position still way off and aiming at hotbird still
 
If you can watch channels from Hotbird, and you have cross checked lyngsat with the frequencies, that is precisely where your dish is pointing.

If you have got Hotbird, all you need to do to get 19.2E, is to swivel the dish east a bit and down a very small bit, whilst monitoring the signal on a 19.2E transponder.

You have not said what size dish you have, as of course, 16E is right between 19.E and 13E, but only possible on 0.8m +
 
Also common frequencies are used between satellites. What channels are you getting and what are you wanting?
 
CHeers for the replies so far, the dish is only a 45cm, this is all to get started and will look at upgrading in the future.

I've tried rotating the dish east a bit but didn't seem to do much. Generally all I pick up is arabic tv channels andings like sexysexytv. I'm going to assume that the astra 19.2 is lower than hotbird?
