Hello All,
Just wondered if my old Satellite TV program is of any use to anyone here?
It does AZ/EL and Polar mount dish calculations as well as many signal calculations but related to analogue FM signals.
I have attached it to a post in the Analogue Section: Analogue Satellite Television Signal Calculator
Attached here is a photo of how it looks running.
The photo in the Analogue section shows the AZ/EL but press F6 to switch to Polar as on the attached photo here.
It needs MS-DOS, a Windows 32 bit system or a DOS emulator (DOSBox, etc.).
I run it on an Asus EeePC with Windows XP SP2.

Best regards, John.

Nice little program, a lot of hobby satellite members will have some sort of meter for alignment and searching, but the more available information the better.:)

Thanks rolfw,
It is good to know that it may be of use, even if it is nearly 35 years after it should have been!
I hope the calculations are correct but if anyone spots anything that is incorrect, please let me know. I have not got the source code for this exact version but will look into trying to correct any errors.

Best regards, John.

A couple of days ago I had Deepseek AI create a python program to automatically perfect the alignment of my movable dish. Had to do it a few times until it understood exactly what I wanted, but each iteration only took a few seconds.
Worth a try if you have an idea.
