Hm i was going to order from this shop a special lnb holder brucket clump for my 2.40 satellite dish
Any idea from where can i get that know?
Because at the moment has a plastic one and it does not allow me to have multiple lnb around it.
I am using my 2.40 dish as stable because of the high winds ...
Pulsat will obviously have a product that covers requirements.
 
Yes @RimaNTSS its the one on the right side of this picture there was stock in satellite superstore ...
Now i have no idea from where to order that?

Yes, I guess you have a lot to learn.

The picture is a diseqc 1.2 (GotoNn) motor, it seems. Nothing with USALS/GotoX calculations, as far as I can see.

To calculate actuator length or actuator pulses out of a USALS calculation, you need a few measurements of the 'actuator triangle' setup, or you need (no more than) 4 pulsecounts on 4 satellite positions (rather difficult calculation, but still very precise) as inputs.



So the question remains: what is meant (by @hexah ) with a 'Rod Usals'?

Of course not, USALS itself cannot be "a standard".
It is just a mathematical calculation of an angular position (relative to the apex), so I don't know how you could ever make that "an (un)official standard", diseqc or other.
After calculation, USALS uses the standard diseqc 1.2 GotoX command though. That command is the only thing that is standardized, but that is eutelsat/diseqc standard.

Official documentation ends with 1.2 / 2.2 since USALs was developed outside Eutelsat (STAB of Italy), though other rotors with similar performance claims have been produced in the far east.

I doubt there have been any USALS actuators produced since the angular movement to give correct location would require specific pivot points on the polarmount to tie in with the single location set by the installer.

Officially a trademark or not (is STAB still in existence ?), USALS (and DiDEqC 1.3 were marks stuck on multiple receivers and actuators in the 2000s.

On some forum pages there are multiple posts relating to the incompatibility of some receivers with the Italian rotors which could not be resolved.

I cannot recall if TJ (who bought and tested one of the DiSEqC 1.2 rods tried using USALS to set up his dish , in regards to the polarmount angles as posted above I would suspect each satellite was stored manually

Ah, yes, that would probably be about the two 'versions' of the GotoX command, I looked that up again.
The STAB motors were only responsive to one version of the command, other motors (like the SG2100) were responsive to both versions of the command. It's here on the forum. :)
 
I still don't see any connection to what we usually indicate as USALS.

It was a series of bad translations in an old receiver manual, it means any actuator used with USALS.

A compact diseqc motor has a small vertical rod (which is what I am using).

Big dishes use a long rod actuator like a SuperJack.

Sadly (AFAIK) I don't have the manual.

Even for a bad translation, it remains strange, though.
USALS calculates a rotation angle, and a linear actuator needs a further actuator length- or pulse counts calculation, as I wrote above:

The combination of automatically running an actuator on USALS calculations plus subsequent automatic actuator length calculations, I've never seen implemented.
I guess it is doable, with an Arduino or something. Till that is done, a 'rod USALS' does not exist, as far as I am concerned. :(


Apart from that: I know of just a few people, that wanted a calculated table with actuator lengths for their complete arc, by doing a few measurements. Most seem to want to do the effort of manually finding all the satellites. That would be called 'hobby'? ;-)
