hi there!

Does anyone know if it's possible to get reception from Armenia and Azerbaijan???

You can get some Channels that originate from those Countries, yes.

Armenia _http://www.flysat.com/tv-am.php

Azerbaijan _http://www.flysat.com/tv-az.php

Hey Tivu!

That's great thanks for the info!!!

Now all I need is the right equipment and someone to install it for me??!!

Any ideas where to find someone who would do that??? I did contact someone off the web but they sent a guy round who wantd £1,000 to install a dish 1.2m and box! Which I thought was a bit expensive!!!

Anyhow any advice would be very much appreciated!!

Cheers..................

Nicolas

Are you sure you want channels from BOTH countries?

Despite being neighbours, these countries differ very heavy in everything, starting from language and religion, ending with cuisine and dress code. :)

Hey Bombed One!

Thnx for your repy

Yes I defo would like to be able to receive both of these countries and also yours too...................................So any advice would be very very much appreciated!!!

Nick

so you have to stick to 36E and 42E.

Can't say for 42E, but 36E already becomes problematic in east germany.

nicolas - start with the channels on 13E. These are an easy catch anywhere in Europe on cheap equipment, and you will get:

Azerbaijan:
Ictimai
Az-TV1
Lider TV

Armenia:
USArmenia (American)
Arm-1
Shant TV

Georgia:
Adjara TV

Adjara TV no longer on hotbird - moved to 36E.

Drat that knackers Georgia for "Chasing Midnight" on New Years Eve!

This just affects W4 Russia Beam not Sesat.

Haha :)

Actually, moving to 36E is related to totally different thing.

In pre-crisis times, people generally install 2 dishes - "europe" (5E+13E) and "ours" (42E). But now, due to crisis, they prefer to have 1 dish, with more local channels on it. So, Adjara TV faced rapid watchers decline during last 6-8 months. As contract for 13E was already ending, they've just moved to 36E. So, watchers now can have multifeed 36E+42E on single dish. For october, we should expect 2 more georgian channels uplinked to sesat (new ones, not ones on 42E).

p.s. wanna know how much they were paying for 13E ? around US $ 1.100.000/yr !

I see. And what about 36E-[39E/40E]-42E on 1 single dish in Armenia/Georgia ? I think this should be possible if we speak of just getting 39E S2 Beam and full 40E C/Ku Band. Suppose 39E F1/F2 Beams are out of reach on small dishes. Bulsat could be interesting as well.

OT: Which size is needed in your location for proper 24h reception of 39E F1/F2 Beams ?

It's impossible to have 36-39/40-42E on single dish, since distance between LNBs is too small. Only 36+42 is possible, and LNBs are placed next to each other in such case. Also, for proper reception of 40E, sizes 1m and bigger are needed, 1.5m for weather independent reception at least.

Regarding 39E, have no info, since nothing interesting there, almost never tried that sat, but can try on 1m motor if you wish.

There i must disagree. It is possible on dishes of at least 1.20m and narrow LNBs to get this combination. I have seen some photos from installations all over Central and Eastern Europe. Of course in the West you can forget W4 Russia Beam, 40E/10967V and some weaker ones of 42E East Beams. The central LNB is able to receive the stronger ones of 39E/40E. This is no ideal solution but if no bigger dish can be installed this is a compromise. So since you say 1.5m is needed in the Caucasian Area for proper reception of 40E a dish of this size should be able to get W4 Russia Beam and the stronger ones of Sesat and full 42E. 2° distance is possible on this size with not too wide LNBs. If 39E F1/F2 Beams are not too weak there, the 40E LNB might also (partly) get them.

The content at 39E is not that interesting for many indeed, so it's mostly a DX question. If you have some time left, i would really appreciate to know which frequencies reach your area.

P.S.: The 2° space of course is possible only on Ku, for C-Band i also doubt that even a 1.5m would suffice.
