Satlink WS-6906 Diseqc motor?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows if and how to set up the 6906 to control a motor?
Under each sat I can set "positioner" to "Diseqc 1.2", but how will the motor know where to point?
I have USALS set up on my server to control my dish. On this meter I see an option for "sat longitude", but I'm not sure what I need to put in there since I can't figure out how to enter negative values... Assuming this is USALS? Also do I need to tell the meter where I am, since that should effect the diseqc command, shouldn't it?

Right now I am sending the commands using my server software, then just hooking the meter up to a spare lnb port... I'd really like to see if I could get the meter controlling the dish all by itself.

You should not need to add longitude and latitude for DiSEqC 1.2 operation.

(The cheap Bravebox /Dymco boxes can drive a steerable dish btw)

Assuming this is USALS? Also do I need to tell the meter where I am, ...

When you cannot input your site latitude and site longitude, there is no USALS calculation in your satmeter.
In that case the input for satellite longitude will only be for giving an 'angular name' to your satellite, I guess.

Apart from that, when you cannot enter negative longitude numbers or enter 'W(est)', in some kind of calculator, the solution for angle usually is to add 360 degrees to the negative longitude number. So 30 degrees W = 330 degrees E.

Page 13 of this PDF shows a motor settings menu, how you access it I don't know. If it's like the 6933 pressing OK on when you've highlighted positioner may bring up the menu?

Thanks for the replies guys.
I never knew about adding 360 to west numbers.
I have found the Diseqc settings page. I did have to just press OK on the positioner option.
It all seems a bit manual though? I am right in saying this is all a little useless since it wont match up with the USALS movement of my setup?
Perhaps driving it from my software is still the best option?

For every position you want to use to align the dish - first move the dish with USALS, then connect the meter and save the position. Would be a pain but at least the positions would be synced.

What you can do, if your meter supports GotoNn (diseqc 1.2):
With USALS in your receiver, goto satellites you wish to finetune on.
Then Store those satellites in your motor, using StoreNn in your receiver.
(Requires leaving USALS, for a moment. Then StoreNn. Then go back to USALS, and goto another sat. There also leave USALS, and StoreNn. Etc...)

This allows you when you are at the dish, with your meter, to give the command GotoNn (=goto the stored position in your motor) for the sats that you have prepared.

Sorry I don't know. My 6933 came with a CD but I've never used it, I just edit the 1st transponder on every satellite to be the strongest one from william-1's list.

Be aware the 6906 is DBS only and as such some of the transponders in the list may not be available to you. Partly, it's the reason I changed my meter to a Freesat V8.

I found Williams list and I have used it to set up my meter.

I've had my motor set up since last summer and its been fantastic. But ever since we had that really cold weather and the snow, I have lost so many channels. Fiddling with it trying to get bits back has just made the whole thing way worse. Time to strip it all down and start over, hence why I'm asking for help with my meter. Is it normal for weather to effect it like it appears to have? Maybe the timing with the weather was just coincidence? We had some strong winds just before the cold weather, but I was watching fringe (is the football on 42e considered fringe?) signals through the storm with little pixilation, so I don't think it was the wind? My dish is a mesh 80cm (85?) Technomate.
