scanning satellite problem

My Satellite Setup
Dreambox DM500s, DM800HD, Sky+, minidish, Fortek star 90cm dish, Fortek Star Motor.
My Location
Newcastle England
Hi all,

I am still trying to scan some satellites on my DM800.
I have managed to catch 28.2e, 19.2e amd 13e.
I am having trouble getting any more.
When i use the satfinder on DM800 for 16e and select predefined transponder i get SNR 0%, AGC 99% and BER 0. ( transponder 10972, 27500, v, 3/4 ).
I've been on for days now. Can anybody help please?

Can you receive Tp 10.956 H, SR: 2821, FEC: 2/3
Al$at TV on W2?
 
Hi,
One of the strongest transponders on 16E is 11304V 30000, it also has some FTA channels on it. It is stronger than the transponder that A l s a t TV uses. Check that your motorised position doesn't need tweaking slightly.
 
Hi,
I finally managed to scan 16e using the settings suggested by Robbo. I tweaked dish a little to get the strongest signal I could and all was ok.
However, after I moved dish to 28.2 and back again, it had forgot where it was and I had to use the satfinder menu to locate it again before being able to watch anything on 16e.
Do i need to store the position or should it just remember?

If using DiSEqC 1.2 then you will need to store the position.
DiSEqC 1.3 (Usals) will calcualte the satellites position based on your own longitude :)

Sorry it's taken so long.
I have stored 28.2e in position 1 and 19.2e in position 2.
When i try to select channels on either of these the dm800 doesn't move to the exact place and can't find the signal.
I have to use satfinder menu and tweak position each time i change satellites.
The dish works fine on my 500 box but not on the 800.
Can anybody help.

I'm still trying to set this bl***y thing up. In dreambox i'm using the following settings.

Configuration Mode - simple
DiSEqC Mode - positioner
Longitude 1.33 West
Latitude 54.531 North

I am now trying to just set up 2 sats to begin with.
I can search for the sats and store them.
I have stored 28.2 in position 1 and 19.2 in position 2.
But whenever i choose a channel on the sat which i'm not on, the system doesn't find it and I have to go to satfinder or positioner to tune in again.
I am now tearing my hair out and need help. Please.
