Yes, been widely published across all Media for a while already.

Yet no-one has reported a child missing.

If the driver and boy were known to each other, possibly even related, that might explain the lack of a missing person report .... but you'd think they would have come forward since, to set the record straight.
 
If we can all keep the pressure up, then hopefully the child will be safe and well.
 
Indeed ...could even be the child had a row with mum n dad ..and tried to do a runner but was intercepted..
This being the case ...a responsible parent would get in touch with the police to clarify ..
Particularly in view of the media coverage..
This sort of thing is when social media comes into it's own I guess.
 
Evan people with cctv have been check hours of footage just to see if there was any leads at the time.

The report was only hours old then.
 
Initial report has not been corroborated by anyone.

The bicycle was unconnected with the reported incident.

Still no missing person's report.
 
Uk bank holiday weekend!

The person who made the initial report has now been released on bail ........
 
We don't even know if there ever was a child ...... I suspect nothing more will come out now until such time as Charges for Perverting the Course of Justice might be tried.
 
They should through the book at them, I hope your right, and it was a waste of time. That way we know there wasn't a child hurt or worse.
 
Well, to be frank we do not know if the "witness" acted in good faith or not, although the actions of Plod suggest it might be otherwise.

Let the wheels of Justice grind.

Sadly, this is an illustration of what at first seems to be a worthy use of "Social Media" turning out instead to be a distraction. People naturally rush to judgement, with the very best of intentions, but care needs to be taken to contribute in measured fashion to a proper process.
