About 18 months ago, I upgraded to GirlFriend 1.0 from DrinkingMates 4.2, which I had used for years without any hassle.
However, there are conflicts between these two products and the only solution was to try and run GirlFriend 1.0 again with the sound turned off.
To make matters worse, GirlFriend 1.0 is totally incompatible with several other applications, such as BoysNight Out 3.1, Football 4.5, FlashCar 2.5 and Playboy 6.9. Newer versions of GirlFriend, like the short release 1.1, aren't any better.
I tried Slapper 2.1 (shareware) - but it had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks.
Eventually, I tried to run GirlFriend 1.1 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to discover that when these two detected each other, they cause physical hardware damage.
I eventually upgraded to Fiancée 1.0 - only to discover that this product had to be upgraded to Wife 1.0 as part of the Licence Agreement! Whatever, Wife 1.0 tends to use up all my resources and comes bundled with FreeBedroomPlus 2.4.1 and CleanHouse 2006.
IMHO, Wife 1.0 is an unstable release - and a costly upgrade.
Any mistakes I make are automatically stored in Wife 1.0's memory and cannot be deleted! They then resurface months later - long after i'd forgotten about them. Seems like wife 1.0 has an automatic Diary, Explorer and E-mail Filter too - and can, without warning, launch TurboStrop 9.9 and Whinge 1.x. Didn't know these progs were bundled? And they have no Help files, so I have guess what the problem is.'O'-red
Additional problems: Wife 1.0 needs updating regularly, requiring Shoe Shop Browser 4 for new attachments and HairstyleExpress 9 (which I have to reinstall every three weeks). Wife 1.0 also spawns unwelcome child processes that are a heavy drain on my resources.
The last update for Wife 1.0 added an irritating pop-up called Mother-In-Law 1.0.1 beta - which can't be un-installed however hard you try and is very annoying nevertheless.
As a work-around, I was tempted to install Mistress MX, but there could be problems.
A friend of mine has alerted me to the fact that if Wife 1.0 detects Mistress MX (any version), it goes off and analyses (then deletes) your personal emails, data and financial files - before partly uninstalling itself. Mistress MX is permanently deleted in the process too.
Can you please help?
