Show Max on 42e

I think it must be very hard.
From the north of Bavaria with 1,80m I receive with 9 dB (very beautiful weather)

hey @nelson_b, good to hear from you...is that on your 2.4 or 1.8
im surprised - did you spend any time on it, i spent a couple of hours yesterday adjusting skew and tried a few other LNBs - nada....meter fluctuates all over the place between 1 and 7dbs.....but never a lock

Hi -
That was with 2.4 .... Spent a little time getting the dish alignment spot on ... but otherwise i didn,t play about for long .... there is a very strong West beam transponder at 12213 V which i think may be affecting my ability to get 12209 H .... had issues like this in the past with east and west beams and close together frequencies with my F15 receiver

Will have another go later maybe if i get time ...

i find it puzzling, that i can get 11096 H - at 10db - east beam as well.

11014H East beam coming in well today @ 6.4dB SNR Getting this one too, on a 1m. L78/Q67 in DVB Dream

Hi-
There were major changes here a couple of years or so ago ... i lost some music radio stations when they moved to the Turkish beam

I get 11096 H - ok at over 10 db here ..... but its listed as Turksat 3A East beam

12209 H is listed as Turksat 4A East beam and has a different / weaker footprint re the UK .

will leave the dish parked at 42 East for a while, and check out some other frequencies on 4A .. i feel i may get something with 2.4 ?

If I get the chance I will unpark The Green Lad and test out 42E. I was going to give it a fresh spray paint but its not a biggie to delay that a couple of weeks, weather is still good for outdoor spraying, it's actually a bit too hot for spraying at the moment.

if @stephan94 can get 9db in germany on a 1.8 - i would expect a 2.4 in the uk to pull it in

I would have thought so too .....
Just tried a handful of other listed 4A frequencies ... but get nothing .....
Oddly though ... i get some signal from some of the listed Turkish beam transponders .... one of them 11977 H 27500 actually locks at 6.6db and scans channels in that can be viewed ok ... Looking at the footprint charts this should be impossible in the u.k. ? ?
 
4A ... Turkish beam transponders ..... North West U.k ..... This does "not" correspond to the footprint maps ?

A quick check on Lyngsat or Flysat provides the info as to the satellites and their beams.

Something has changed here in the past few years since I last checked 42E out with The Green Lad.
It might possibly be that some frequencies have moved from Turksat 3A to Turksat 4A with the impact of more difficult reception in the UK?
 
I,m certainly puzzled that i can see some transponders on the 4A Turk beam here .... and not see anything from 4A east beam ... should be the other way round according to the footprint charts

It's entirely possible that the transponders swapped beams without telling anyone.

I remember a similar situation with Astra 1G. The 'high' beam seemed to be more favourable than its 'wide' beam but I've not seen a peep from the 'high' beam, while getting good signals from the other one.
