Very nice stuff chaps. I love Technics and Denon stuff. I even owned a Denon AV receiver but sold it (in favour of the Marantz).

I had a A Marantz SR4200 AV receiver for about 10 years after my Kenwood AV expired :( with Kef Cadenza speakers my best amp 25+ years ago was a NAD with Vu meters another family member had a Quad Electostatic system with speakers like radiators sounded very good.

Most of the equipment I have bought over the last 3 years has been made in China after 14 months some of them fail to operate as it was intended :(
The French Focal Chorus Speakers are excellent as is the Denon Amp & TEAC CD usb player recorder I cannot fault the SoundLAB Professional USB Belt Drive Turn table just as good as byThorens Turntable
deck that weighed a ton

Makes me want to unpack all my Kit again which is in storage to keep it away from the kids.

My set up consists of a Cambridge Audio A5 Amp, a Teac W-480C Twin Cassette deck, Marantz CD4000 CD player, a Cambridge Audio T500 Tuner, a Yamaha MDX-595 Minidisc recorder connected to a set of Tannoy Mercury MR2 Speakers.

The CD Player and Minidisc player are connected to the amp using Chord Crimson interconnects whilst the rest are a mixture of QED Reference and IXOS interconnects. Speaker cable used is of the Audioquest varity. Sounds awesome when its turned up for what is a pretty basic low end system. The interconnects and speaker cable make all the difference.

I'm just hoping the various seperates run on 100v otherwise they will be going on eBay as they won't be much use to me across the pond. I know running them through a step up transformer will introduce hum into the system making it pointless.

Marantz 2245 - 45 W RMS - has been with me since 1971 - works perfectly in original form. Never saw a Tech.- two Tamon 80W (Music) Speakers - same date as Marantz and a JVC Turntable. stowed away, also in perfect working condition.
Couldn't resist the temptation....went and took a photo of it.:D

Nothing special here - an old Aiwa ZL720

aiwa.jpg

We did have the record deck as well but as we no longer have any records that went in the recycling bins a few years ago. The cassette desks are no longer operational but as we only ever play cd's on it or route the sound off the sky & dvd boxes through it its no loss.

The speakers give a decent sound for what was not a particularly expensive av system.

In addition I have wireless headphones for my mp3's which are streamed off the NASbox onto my beloved old Dell desktop computer. :)

Did,:)- Neil Diamond - 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' My most favorite.
I have started off with a new Johnny cash - out among the stars, then played some JJ Cale now on an aquatic quo. But that's on my mad drive :-)

I like Neil diamond, might dig some out.
