Squeezebox Server runs something called Spotty, works quite well and has connect facility.

That looks better! Where did you get the VU Meter, are they fed from the pre-out or speaker out?

Ebay! Was quite expensive but I didn't want to mess too much. These are only connected to the computer really with a split out to the preamp. Just couldn't find a better place for them. But I guess I could connect them to pre outs or tape monitor outs.
