Hi Folks
I am a newbie trying to get the Silvercrest SL65 Satellite kit to work.
The manual states that you should set your tv set to AV. however when I do this al I get is a a message saying "no signal" ditto ATV DTV.
I have the option to set my tv to DTV ATV AV SCART etc. The only setting the receiver appears to work on is SCART. when I say "work" I mean get the set-up menu on screen but no pctures. I need to know if the scart setting is correct before I attempt to go any further. (?)
The problem I envisage when I do get going to have is getting the elevation correct, there are no gradations on the dish mounting.
Help will be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Merseysat

Your required setting would appear to be scart assuming you are using a scart lead of course, but as it works I suspect you are. Don't try and go by the scales on the dish they are often inaccurate. Your dish needs to be as per the picture when viewed from the side, how are you obtaining the correct alignment with 28.2 East?

Hi Topper
Thanks for your speedy reply, I haven't really tried as yet, just needed to verify that I was on the right setting first.
The bottom line is I dont know How to obtain the correct alignment with 28.2 East although I have been scouring the internet in the meantime for any advice from websites. I have found a site called Dishpointer.com so I will start some serious setup based on this website. Take a peek land and me know what you think.
I will get back to you when I have had another play around with it.
Thanks again, Best Regards

Dishpointer is fine also make use of neighbours houses around you and see where their sky dishes point

Have used the website many times and looking at other dishes is very useful.

Set the dish so that the face is about vertical, point the dish in the rough direction, then swivel it left and right a bit hoping to find a the signal. If nothing appears, adjust the elevation and repeat until you do.

Just a little niggle, in the title, it says "Astra1, 28.8e", shouldn't that be either "Astra1, 19.2e" or "Astra2, 28.2e"?

Thanks to all the contributors on this thread. I have been unable to spend time on the satellite setup, I'm just too busy at the moment. However I will get back to you when I get the chance to have a "fiddle" around with it taking on board your advice.
Best Regards to all for kind advice
