Is there a physical difference in the sizes ?

I am trying to update a client's mobile but the card slot is ever so slightly different to my old sim card, so I cannot access the ota download needed.
 
There's actually no such thing as a 5G SIM, they're all the same. Disregarding the original sim cards which were practically the size of a credit card, there are three sizes in common use now.

Standard SIM 25mm x 15mm The largest size, rarely used in modern devices.
Micro SIM 15mm x 12mm Smaller than Standard, used in some older smartphones.
Nano SIM 12.3mm x 8.8mm The smallest and most common size in modern smartphones.

Could it be that the phone you're trying to update needs a Nano SIM and you have a Micro SIM?

Thanks and yes, the Sim cards are both nano.

I will take them out and compare a bit closer tomorrow.

Btw the clients' mobile has two Sim card access (+ 1 SD card slot) in the caddy. Their 5G card does not fit my mobile single slot - if that makes sense.
