I don't know if this is the best place to ask this question but here goes.
Why do Canal Satellite and TPS use both Mediaguard 2 and TPS crypt (Viaccess 1) on most of their channels? I thought Canal Satellite's subscribers had to have a Mediaguard receiver and point the dish at 19°E while TPS's used a Viaccess CA receiver pointed at 13°E. Presumably those who want both packages have to get a receiver with both CA systems and a dual LNB. If two CA's are used the channel must be doubling its encryption costs especially if they're as expensive as Sky's charges.
