Sky Activation help!

I have a new sky card coming which i have ordered Full uk SKY HD

i have a spare sky+ box thats not in use can i activate the card in that box, will it enable HD?


Then i can stick it in my DM800
 
Yes you can do this, I have activated 2 sky HD cards for use in dreamboxes in my Sky+ box.
 
I was thinking of upgrading to the Sly HD but don't need the box as I have a DM800.
Will Sly send me an HD card without them having to come round and install it if I pay for it monthly.
And will they tie me in to a contract for a year.
I have Sly+ at the moment.

I very much doubt it if you wanting a new subscription with Sly they will give you a price for the setup, however you might be able to get a HD card from a indipendant retailer. Have a look around you probs will find one :)

They sent me an HD card last July no problem. I told them I bought my HD sky box elsewhere and the card arrived 2 days later. Yes your contracted for a year.
 
Did you get any discount seeing that you didn't get the HD box?

No discount, standard £10 for multi room and £10 for HD
 
Surely then you should have got them to come and install it and then you would have had a spare HD box to either sell or use for multiroom.
 
I had multi room already. I did the multi room insall myself and just had a card sent for that when I did it. They do try and encourage(force) an installer to call but if you insist you just want the card you will get it.
