My old Sky+ box has died. I no longer have an active sky subscription but the box has worked for years on the free channels. If I buy another sky+ box on e-bay will it work with my current sky card?
 
If its a blue card its not doing anything except regionalising your box to the correct area.

But yes if its a white card it will continue to decrypt the half dozen or so ftv channels
 
Not forgetting that 99% of the "Free" Channels don't need the Card anyway ................................
