Sky cards

Having more or less sussed out what I am going to do as regards the purchase of a good "fringe" receiver for Northern Spain I am now mulling over the best way to get a yellow house sky card (non-subscription). I have looked on ebay where there are all sorts of possibilities but apparently with no guarantee that they will work. However, I saw a couple of ads for info about getting a Sky card registered in my name (at a UK address) which would mean I would automatically receive a new one if and when the current ones expire.

I would appreciate any thoughts and advice on this matter. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all!!
 
If you can get a card sent to your home address in the UK you should go for that particular option (will cost you around £20). The cards are supposed to work out 2008. Do keep in mind that you need to activate the card though.

Cards from eBay are ok. Don't bother with the ones "not tested" as these are 100% not working. Expect to pay up to £30 for a working yellow house card and it should be pre-activated.

why would you still want a FTV card ? All they open is Channel 4 and five. Both BBC and ITV are FTA now, no more card needed.....
 
Bought a FTV Yellow house card on E-Bay last week.Works great 19 sterling plus postage.The ones advertised with the 0870 telephone number on the back seem to be the best bet. John22.:-csmile

And JTA, I was under the impression that there were actually a lot more channels than just C4 and 5, but maybe I should check, although C4 and 5 have footie matches (UEFA and Champs L) and the odd good movie now and again, so 20-30 quid is not a lot at all to fork out. Well, all the very best to everybody and remember "don´t do what I wouldn´t do, but if you do, remember to take photos!"
 
There are... what he means is they are the only ones worth getting a FTV card for, would you pay £20-£30 for a load of telemarketing channels? In any case I think channels 4&5 make it worth the money plus you also get sky3 also now which can't be bad.

My sentiments exactly bignick, C4 & 5 are worth the small outlay, although there is also the possibility that "decent" channels may be added in the near future, a la Sky 3, although I must admit I haven´t viewed it (Sky 3)so far but it may well broadcast reasonable stuff.

As I am off on my hold very soon I would like to wish you all on this site the very best for the festive season.
