Hi,

What encryption method sky digital is using?
Is it videoguard?

Is it necessary to buy the digibox from sky only?

is there any cam availabe to see sky digital?

after buying the cam, do I have to program it?
Do I have to buy a programmer?

Do they have offices in other EU countries?

Not officially no. Dragon Cams will work, but no-one knows how long for

No

Loads of them - check out ebay for a typical selection of models :D

If you want the pay channels abroad you either need a UK address or use a reseller - (in which case you will pay more of course).

Is it possible that my friends in UK can take it?

Now they have offer free digibox with new users.

can my friend take the digibox & send it to me?

What sat they r using? is it astra?
So If I tuned my dish to astra then I use the digibox....is it sufficient?
I heard that activation is required for SKY card.

BT

The free Digibox offer will commit you to a year's subscription and also require you to have it connected to telephone line during that year.

Your friend would have to pay the full amount for the box to avoid the telephone problem.

All transmisions are from 28 East. There are 3 Astra satellites (2A, 2B and 2D) and Eurobird.

Don't confuse this with the Astra 1 position at 19 East.

Activation is only required for a brand new card. A previously used card can be reactivated by leaving it in the digibox to receive the activation signal.

so I cant get free digibox outside uk as it will not be connected to uk telephone line.
if my friend pays the full amont, then i can get digibox.

how a brand new viewing card can be activated?

BT

To be honest the easiest thing to do is to contact one of the numerous foreign resellers who will supply you with a pre activated card.

If you want the premium channels you need the card paired to a specific digibox. If you want just the basic channels then the card will work in any digibox.

If you want to do it the difficult way then buy a box new or second hand from a suitable source. Contact Sky and get a "secondhand box contract" When the card comes connect the box to a dish and a phone line and activate the card (DONT try and activate the card in an existing working setup - you will change the card pairing!) Once its all working unhook everything and ship the box abroad.

Wrong

Can i just add to this, Sky do a deal, Free box, Dish etc for free with free standard installation.

It doesnt need to be connected to the telephone line, a one off payment of £25 is payable upon ordering. or you can get the engineer to get them to ring for you.. and change the order from an ID1 to a NPL (No Phoneline install).

Also take into account Astra 2D. If your reason for wanting it is to get BBC, ITV and Channel 4's E4, More4 and FilmFour, you will need a big dish, very accurate alignment and a healthy dose of luck!

With a 2.4m dish I get BBC and ITV1. I cannot get ITV2, 3, 4 or E4, More4 or FilmFour. You may be luckier.

Since when has this been available? I must admit it's some time since I read a $ly contract but IIRC the subsidy was paid internally by (presumably) another arm of the NewsCorp empire and it was conditional upon connection to a phone line. If you left the box unconnected then you had to repay the subsidy.

At last that was the case!

Been going for a few months now.. great deal if you want your card for the old dreambox :) which is my idea :)
