hi is it possible to move a normal sky dish to 19.2e to receive other channels without getting another box or do you need another box and dish

Yes, you can move the dish and it will work on 19.2E Ok.

You can use a Sky receiver, but best to get another box, as Sky boxes are designed only to be used on 28E, and lack the functionality for proper use on other satellites.

Depending on location (can't see as on Tapatalk), it's possible although your limited to 50 channels and two s/rates.

how would i do that and what would i get if i say bought a dreambox 500

What are you after viewing?

anything fed up of sky really but was thinking of getting motorised dish but aint sure what im doing really

If your new to motorised satellite then advise starting off with an entry level receiver - their cheap enough :)

what kind of entry level system should i be looking for then i live in liverpool uk

Technomate 3000/5000 series would suit. Their well supported.

80/90cm dish with a DiSEqC motor.

dont know wether to ask this but will that be able to do cardsharing as i ws looking into it

will this be any good for what im after Ebay item no. 360168529212

Yes, fine for a starter system.

Removed link above as per forum rules.

are they easy to set up as ive on ever had sky boxes before

Yes pretty straight forward. Have a browse round the forum including the motor dish set up guides :)

cn i just move my sky dish to 19.2e and can i just move it with me hands or do i need special equipment

You can realign the dish to Astra1 by using an in-line squawker meter or the sky receiver signal screen.

sorry to be a paim but how would i do that with the sky box

That would require two people, one to move the dish the other to monitor the signal bars on the stb assuming of course you set it to a frequency SR and FEC that is common to both satellites. However be aware that the sky box is knobbled by sky and is therefore limited in the frequency range FEC and SR and you will not be able to receive a number of channels on 19.2 East

so if i bought a dreambox500s or technomate tm500 would they work ok and can i move the dish by hand

Get yourself a £5 in-line meter. Swing the dish round, peak and check you've hit the correct satellite using the receiver's scan services option. Mark up the dish beforehand.
