Sky+ & Freesat help needed please.

Hi all,

My father has a Panasonic Vieja TX-32LZD81 full HD TV with built in Freesat, he currently has Sky+, He would like to cancel his Sky+ account to save money and just use Freesat but would like to use the record facility, My stepmum likes the ease of use when it comes to recording with the Sky box.

My questions/ problems are:
1/ The TV cannot find Astra 2, is this a simple question of dish alignment?

2/ Will the Sky+ box still show Freesat channels after account cancellation and will it still record?

Any info would be gratefully received.

1) If the Sky box works then something needs investigating if the tv isnt seeing the satellite.

2) The sky+ box will still work with the free channels BUT you will lose the record functionality as soon as the account is cancelled..
 
1/ the tv should find the signal as it's the same one with sky 28.2e .
2/ sky+ box will still show the freesat channel but it will not be able to record anymore .

You need to replace the sky+ box with a Freesat+ box to be able to record .
 
If however the dish was slightly mis-aligned from initial install, it's just possible a freesat receiver / freesat TV may fail to lock on boot up. I've come across a few over the past year.
 
Many thanks all, I better check the TV is working properly in the tuning area and/ or check the alignment of the dish.
