What size dish would I need to view ITV 1.2.3 Ch4.5. BBC 1.2. In Spain. Segovia north of Madrid to be exact. Was having a look through the threads and a lot of different sized dishes named. Looking at the footprint Anything over 1.2 dish needed. So if anyone near Madrid has got it could you list your Dish size, LNB type & receiver. Thanks
I am 30km South-West of centre of Madrid.
DISH: Prodelin 1.8m offset with its own feedhorn
LNB: SHARP LNB BS1R6EL 100W
SKYBOX: PACE 430N (newer version of the 2600)
My experience:
- BBC and ITV vertical 2D channels (mainly BBC1 & ITV1 regions - e.g. BBC1 South, ITV Granada, but not London): No problems 24/7. ITV2 and ITV3 also OK.
- Channel 4, and FIVE: No problems 24/7
- BBC and ITV horizontal channels (BBC1/ITV1 London, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, CBC, CBEEBIES): Get these OK at some times of day but not at others. Black spots are mid-afternoon and late evening
You may have better luck as you are further north and don't have Madrid's contamination in the way. Still wouldn't go lower than 1.8m for the dish, though.
Am in the process of moving over to an INVACOM quad LNB as I need the extra outputs - I started a thread about this called "Help installing Invacom LNB", but I can't comment on reception quality yet.
