Hi there,

I've just bought a Sky+ box, a pace 3100. I would like to install it myself rather than pay Sky to come and do it. Is it just a case of replacing the LNB on my dish to a quad lnb and runnning a second cable between the dish and the box?

Is there anything else that needs to be done? Are there any common pitfalls or am i better off getting sky in to do it?

Thanks,
Rich

Yes thats basically it, but you dont need a quad, a dual output lnb will be ok, If its just the one box you have.;)

If it's a Sky minidish, then it is unlikely that you would find a twin LNB, as they haven't made them for a long time, always best to have a couple of redundant outputs anyway. :)

I plan to follow this install guide:

Does the info here look correct?

That's a very old guide, the modern Sky Quad LNBs normally have a slide down F connector cover, so rubber boots are not necessary.

It should simply be a case of removing the old LNB carefully and sliding the new one in. Occasionally the weight of the new LNB will require a little fine tuning of the alignment, but it is an easy adjustment to make. :)
