Sky Phoning Me

Does anybody know how often Sky phones the recevier when you have a mirror subscription ? Is it a phone call or a sat signal- Thanks
 
It is an over the air request for the box to phone home and is certainly once per month, don't know if it is more frequent.
 
Seems stupid, doesn't it?

I would understand if Sky was located in former Soviet Union and did this, but it seems just silly to check people out this way if they are cheating or not.
 
I don't think that it's stupid Likvid, If I were a business selling a discounted second card on the basis that it was used in a single household, I would want to make sure that it wan't depriving me of an otherwise full subscription elsewhere.

Just good business sense.
