Hi all,

Is a sub required from sky to be able to record programmes directly onto the harddrive of a sky+ receiver, will a FTV card not suffice?

Also how easy is it to upgrade the harddrive ie to buy a bigger harddrive and fit it yourself. I can upgrade my pc hd with no problems but I'm assuming that a sky+ hd will be more difficult.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
Morgan

As far as I am aware Morgan, the box will not record unless activated by Sky and this requires that you pay the additional sky+ subscription.

It is possible to replace the drive for a larger one, see This thread
