i have been trying to buy a sky plus box for a while but they all seem to be around £250-£300 does anyone know where to get i fof sensible money.

Don't think that you'll get a new one any cheaper than that, you may find a secondhand one on somewhere like Ebay though.
I don't consider that price to be particularly OTT, bearing in mind that it has a hard disk recorder, the £10 extra per month tha Sky charge for the privilege is however a rip off in my opinion.

i have just called sky about sky plus, they say because i am a loyal customer the +box is only £199 the installation is £60 to include relocation of old box and i do not have to pay extra £10 for the record & live pause functions but i have to pay £15 per month for 2nd subscription. so i think i will go with sky.
