Sky+ recording issue

Hello everyone - i wonder if someone can help me. I bought Sky+ over a year ago and loved it for the first 9 months. It then developed a recording fault - especially when recording two programs simultaneously. When attempting to watch back the picture jumps with sound going completely out of sync making watching impossible.
I called Sky for technical help who guided me through the sky planner rebuild and system reset - alas to no avail.
Does anyone out there know of any glich or miracle cure to rectify this?
 
sounds like the hard drive may be failing?

i had a similar problem on several occasions. ended up renewing hd with a maxtor 120gb.everything ok now.
 
Thanks for your replies. Sky engineer called on Saturday - agreed with diagnosis and replaced my old Amstrad box with a Pace system. All working fine now.
