At the minute i have a sky dish mounted in the garden with a single LNB and one cable running back to the house. The cable runs into the living room and then a second cable back from the living room to the roof where its joins onto a cable that goes to a bedroom with a tvlink. Im looking to upgrade to sky+ and have ordered an octo LNB with correct mounting brackets etc. The problem is i want the sky+ in the bedroom only and leave the living room as it is. Im going to have to remount the sky dish on the house as it would involve digging the garden up to run in the new cables. I only have a single coax running to the bedroom and it would be a major job to run another cable in. Would it work if i left the sky+ box in the roof with the 2 coax feeds from the dish running to it and then attach the single coax that runs to the bedroom from the RF output and use a tvlink to control the sky+ box?? If so, are there any disadvantages?? Sorry its a bit of a long explanation guys O-zzz

Yes you could have the Sky plus box in the loft, but they don't really like the heat and you may get problems, you will also only get a moderate quality picture via the rf output.
