Sky TV in the Caribbean

My first post here. I am just about to emmigrate to the Dominican Republic and was wondering if it is possible to receive Sky in the Carribean? I have just cancelled my Sky+ subcription and the chap at Sky customer services told me that it might be possible with a large dish. He also went on to say that when he was on his travels in Thailand, he saw Sky Tv being received there. Any help would be greatly appreciated from this noob. Thanks.
 
No chance whatsoever :D The satellites carrying the service are firing at Europe. the transmission dont go anywhere near the Caribbean.
 
There's always Sling (I believe it is called so). You can connect it to your Sky receiver and Broadband in the UK and pick it up anywhere in the world. Not quite like the real thing but enough to fight home sickness.
 
If you can access Internet via ADSL, this maybe your best option,

Why would you need to watch TV in the Caribbean ??
