Sky white card

Yesterday the 1st of october i took out my sky card and left it out overnight, this morning i put back in and im getting a msg, " please insert your new sky card " iv got no ppv channels and cant get the ch5 itv1 fiver etc, same msg displayed,. my payments are up to date, can see the free channels etc cbc sky news no prob, iv unpluged the box and restarted it but to no avail, anyone got any ideas whats going on? thanks in advance. Ps i live in spain and got card through local dealer but cant seem to locate him now.

As you have lost the ftv channels (C5 et al) it sounds like the card has been turned off. Sky are cracking down on expat viewers.

As the dealer has disappeared chances are he's not been making the payments

It could be as simple as that the period you had it out of the box for coincided with a refresh signal .............. meaning you missed it.

Try leaving the Card in the powered up box and it may spring back to life in a day or three.

And don't take your Card out of the box again!

The message you're getting is strange, I mean if the card had been switched off you should see 'this card is not authorized', NOT 'please insert your new card'. Check that your card number can be read in the services menu and make sure it's in the viewing card slot correctly.

If it's in the wrong slot or the wrong way round or the wrong way up (or any combination of those), not only will it not work but it certainly is at risk of missing a refresh signal, if it hasn't already.

I'd be interested to know why the Card was removed anyway.

Double check you have put the card in the right slot (not the interactive slot!) AND its inserted round the right way (think its chip down)

Well i was up to something with another receiver,,, no its inserted in the propper slot everything fine, the provider was on to say it will be reactivated shortly !!! however i believe sky 3d went live on the 1st ? maybe it was something to do with that? i really dont know, iv never seen it before, keep ye posted
